Day 3 // 30 days of truth

Once a week I'll answer the proposed question or statement truthfully for 30 weeks.

Day 01 → Something you hate about yourself.
Day 02 → Something you love about yourself.
Day 03 → Something you have to forgive yourself for.
Day 04 → Something you have to forgive someone for.
Day 05 → Something you hope to do in your life.
Day 06 → Something you hope you never have to do.
Day 07 → Someone who has made your life worth living for.
Day 08 → Someone who made your life hell, or treated you like shit.
Day 09 → Someone you didn’t want to let go, but just drifted.
Day 10 → Someone you need to let go, or wish you didn’t know.
Day 11 → Something people seem to compliment you the most on.
Day 12 → Something you never get compliments on.
Day 13 → A band or artist that has gotten you through some tough ass days. (write a letter.)
Day 14 → A hero that has let you down. (letter)
Day 15 → Something or someone you couldn’t live without, because you’ve tried living without it.
Day 16 → Someone or something you definitely could live without.
Day 17 → A book you’ve read that changed your views on something.
Day 18 → Your views on gay marriage.
Day 19 → What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?
Day 20 → Your views on drugs and alcohol.
Day 21 → (scenario) Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?
Day 22 → Something you wish you hadn’t done in your life.
Day 23 → Something you wish you had done in your life.
Day 24 → Make a playlist to someone, and explain why you chose all the songs. (Just post the titles and artists and letter)
Day 25 → The reason you believe you’re still alive today.
Day 26 → Have you ever thought about giving up on life? If so, when and why?
Day 27 → What’s the best thing going for you right now?
Day 28 → What if you were pregnant or got someone pregnant, what would you do?
Day 29 → Something you hope to change about yourself. And why.
Day 30 → A letter to yourself, tell yourself EVERYTHING you love about yourself

My friend miss Meagan is now doing this and I think it's great because I think it'll great self exploration. Meg, I agree, 30 weeks is a long time. I may just randomly do some if I feel so inclined. Looking forward to your daily post.

I have to forgive myself for not being "where I want to be". At the age of 23, a lot (most) of my friends are done with college and onto their "real life things". I am not quite there. Yes, I have a "real life" and a great job but I always beat myself up about not graduating from St. Kate's yet. I think I should never have dropped out in fall of 2006 and enrolled at a community college. I get upset when I realize I won't be done with school until 2012 or maybe even 2013. I get so upset that I want to quit. And I have to forgive myself for making the mistakes I made in the past because, in reality, I know they've only made me stronger and brought me where I am today.

Resisting Temptation

I decided I'm sick of being fat. {Okay I know I'm not "fat" but I'm just not happy with myself.}
I want to be in better shape.
I want to quit smoking. (haven't had one since Sunday)
I want to run (another) 5k, a half marathon, and maybe someday a whole dang marathon!
I was sick of thinking, making excuses and saying, well starting tomorrow I'll work out, starting tomorrow I'll quit smoking. I wasn't going to blog about it because then if I fail or just don't do it, then I've set myself up for success, only to fail.

let's just say: it's thursday. So far = so good! I've been keeping a daily food log and counting my calorie intake.

[The only 'naughty' thing I did was have a chocolate bar (half of a mini one) the other day. But a girl needs chocolate!]

I went for a nice long roller blade session on Tuesday night. It's been *so* hot out that I can barely muster up the energy to put clothes on and go to work let alone work out, outside nonetheless.

For my birthday: buying a gym membership in the area (options include: Anytime Fitness, YWCA St. Paul, Statera Fitness or LA Fitness) & yoga package at Corepower Yoga.

The purpose of this afternoon's blog is to share that I have resisted tempation in two ways today.

1. Better than sex cake in the cafeteria...
I could devour this in a second. Staring at it makes my mouth water. But not water enough to not eat ANYTHING ELSE the rest of the day. Or week for that matter.

2. $2 ANY SIZE cold drink at Caribou
Got back to my desk after saying "NO" to the cake and had a coupon for any size cooler for $2. We all know I love the 'bou. And I love their coolers.

So here I am. At my desk. Drinking my 1 guilty pleasure (diet coke) and chewing bubblemint gum. Oh I do have to share I had a chocolate chip/cherry muffin for breakfast. With my banana and oatmeal.

*disclaimer, going out of town this weekend to see Mr. Mayer (aka myfuturehusband/dreamboat/ILOVETHISMAN) IN Illinois. I will not be counting for Saturday/Sunday. I think that's OK.

go me :)

{to do}

**this is from my secret blog with my girlies, lyss, megs and carrie, but I wanted to share on here!**
I've decided to start a little list, a bucket list, if you will.
Some are long term, others are short term.
& I'll keep adding

See The Lion King on Broadway.
Go to New York (never been)
Spend a lot of time watching Shark Week 2010.

eat more chocolate cake.
eat less meat.
spend more time in the sun [with sunscreen]
Fall crazy in {forever} love with a sweet man.
**But don't just fall in love to fall in love. Real love**
Wear hot pink shoes to my wedding. Or maybe have hot pink fingernails.
Spend less time worrying.
Dance.
Go to Chicago!
Continue with no pop or coffee (it's been HELL, btw)
Smile. ---> Every. Single. Day.
Go to Marketfest a few times Summer 2010.
Be the best friend I can be to my g.i.r.l.s.
go to California.
Have a wonderful birthday, pedicures and cake included.
Continue to re-mix songs with Ella.
Rollerblade.
Don't settle.
Save more money.
Buy more shoes.
Go to the cabin.
Pray.
Finish out my class STRONG.
Meaning: knock out this final paper and those 18 journals in the next 17 days.
Earn a good great grade in said class.
Prepare for two {2} classes this fall... math & promotional communications.
Be a sister, not a *mom* to my brothers.
be a mom to my cat(s)
